WSB-A/Atlanta's Care-A-Thon Raises Record $1.75 Million For Aflac Cancer Center

COX MEDIA GROUP News-Talk WSB-A-WSBB (NEWS 95.5 AND AM750 WSB)/ATLANTA's 17th annual WSB Care-a-Thon this weekend (7/27-28) set a new record for the event, raising over $1,750,000 in 37 hours for the AFLAC CANCER & BLOOD DISORDERS CENTER of CHILDREN’S HEALTHCARE OF ATLANTA.
“We are eternally grateful to NEWS 95.5 AND AM750 WSB for lending their powerful and highly respected voice to raise funds for and awareness of the AFLAC CANCER & BLOOD DISORDERS CENTER through the WSB Care-a-Thon,” said hospital Director DOUGLAS K. GRAHAM. “We are deeply appreciative of the remarkable relationship we enjoy with the entire WSB Radio family.”
WSB Manager of Program Operations and Community Affairs CONDACE PRESSLEY said, “Seventeen years ago, we were introduced to the lifesaving work happening at the AFLAC CANCER CENTER. WSB shared those amazing stories with our listeners, and their response has been overwhelming. To raise a record-setting $1,750,000 shows the power radio can have for good in the local community.”
SCOTT SLADE, CLARK HOWARD, HERMAN CAIN, NEAL BOORTZ, ERICK ERICKSON, ERIC VON HAESSLER and MARK ARUM were on hand for the radiothon, with guests including ATLANTA FALCONS quarterback MATT RYAN, AFLAC Chairman/CEO DAN AMOS, AFLAC FOUNDATION President KATHELEN AMOS, and other celebrities.
