Podcast network GIMLET MEDIA has closed on $15 million in additional financing. The Series B investments were led by STRIPES GROUP and EMERSON COLLECTIVE along with CROSS CULTURE VENTURES and BETAWORKS; GIMLET has raised $22 million in overall funding.
The investments come with an addition to the GIMLET board of directors, as STRIPES GROUP partner PATRICK KEANE joins the board, now numbering four directors with a fifth to be added later this year.
“This investment is a gratifying validation that we are at the beginning of the second golden age of audio,” a press statement quotes GIMLET co-founders ALEX BLUMBERG and MATT LIEBER as making. "We'll use it to continue expanding the definition of what on-demand audio can be. We're excited about what we'll make, and we think others will be as well."
