WAXY (790 The Ticket)/Miami Host Ethan Skolnick Arrested After Incident At Parents' Home

ENTERCOM Sports WAXY-A (790 THE TICKET)/MIAMI afternoon host and CBS SPORTS NBA contributor ETHAN SKOLNICK was arrested WEDNESDAY (8/11) on an elder-abuse battery charge after allegedly beating his 70-year-old father, reports the MIAMI HERALD.

SKOLNICK is being accused of punching his father LOUIS in the face and arms; the police report indicates that the police were called to the SKOLNICKS' home in BOCA RATON after ETHAN SKOLNICK's estranged wife called them to check on her husband.  Shortly after leaving, the police were called back when SKOLNICK's mother SHELLY called 911 to report the attack, telling them her son "went nuts" after the first police visit, under the belief that his parents were responsible for the initial call.  NBC affiliate WPTV/WEST PALM BEACH is reporting that LOUIS SKOLNICK told the court that he is not interested in pressing charges against his son and that he is comfortable with his son returning to live with him.

SKOLNICK has not been on the air at THE TICKET since JULY 31st and is not listed as a host on the station's website, although ENTERCOM declined to state to the HERALD whether he remains on the staff.  His co-hosts CHRIS PERKINS and CURTIS STEVENSON are listed as hosts of the 4-7p show.  AWFUL ANNOUNCING reports that SKOLNICK's CBS contract expired on AUGUST 1st.
