Singer, Songwriter, TV Star Billy Mize Dies At 88

ALL ACCESS extends sympathies to family and friends of singer, songwriter, radio broadcaster, and television personality BILLY MIZE, following his WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 1st passing in CALIFORNIA. He was 88.
MIZE was a three-time ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC (ACM) Television Personality Of The Year award recipient for his work on LOS ANGELES television, notably, GENE AUTRY's "Melody Ranch" show on KTLA-TV during the mid-late 60s. As a songwriter, MIZE penned "Who Will Buy The Wine," a hit for CHARLIE WALKER in 1960; MIZE is considered one of the pioneers of the BAKERSFIELD sound. Other artists who recorded his songs included DEAN MARTIN, MERLE HAGGARD, JERRY LEE LEWIS, JOHNNY CASH, ERNST TUBB, and BUCK OWENS, among others. No information on services was available.
