WTOP/Washington, WINA/Charlottesville Lead Winners Of Virginias AP Broadcasters Awards

The VIRGINIAS ASSOCIATED PRESS BROADCASTERS announced the winners of its awards for 2017 at the GREENBRIER resort in WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, WV SATURDAY (4/21). In the larger market competition, HUBBARD News WTOP/WASHINGTON won seven first place awards, with VIRGINIA TECH News-Talk WVTF (RADIO IQ)/ROANOKE taking home five; in the non-metro category, SAGA News-Talk WINA-A-W255CT/CHARLOTTESVILLE won eight categories, with PIEDMONT BROADCASTING CORP. Classic Hits WBTM-A-W273CD/DANVILLE, VA and ROYAL BROADCASTING Classic Hits WZRV (THE RIVER 95.3)/FRONT ROYAL, VA each winning four.
