KEGY (97.3 The Fan)/San Diego Renamed KWFN

ENTERCOM has changed the call letters of its Sports KEGY (97.3 THE FAN)/SAN DIEGO to match the new name and format.  The new calls are KWFN.

KEGY's previous calls reflected the Top 40 "ENERGY 97.3" format that was replaced in MARCH by the short-lived Classic Rock-Talk "97.3 THE MACHINE" format.  The Top 40 format and the KEGY calls migrated to 97.3 from 103.7 in NOVEMBER 2017, swapping places with the previous and long-time occupant of 97.3, Country KSON.  The Sports format launched APRIL 12th after the controversy over a tweet by KEVIN KLEIN, slated to be the morning man for THE MACHINE, led to ENTERCOM pulling the plug on the show and Classic Rock-Talk format.
