CHARLES C. EARLS' KOMC-KRZK, LLC is selling Classic Country KRZK and Classic Hits KCAX-K251BZ/BRANSON, MO and AC KOMC-F (MY 100.1)/KIMBERLING CITY, MO and EARLS' KHOZ, LLC is selling Adult Standards KHOZ-A, Country KHBZ (102.9 THE Z), and K235CE/HARRISON, AR to PAUL COATES' OZARK MOUNTAIN MEDIA GROUP, LLC for $6.5 million. The buyer has been programming the stations under an LMA since OCTOBER 2017.
In other filings with the FCC, applying for STAs were DORDT COLLEGE INC. (Contemporary Christian KDCR/SIOUX CENTER, IA, reduced power due to electrical/ice storm damage); RADIO7MEDIA, LLC. (Adult Hits WTNX (X106)/LAWRENCEBURG, TN, reduced power while it builds at its new location); and MAPLETON LICENSE OF CHICO, LLC (Top 40 KQPT (107.5 NOW FM)/COLUSA, CA, reduced power due to transmitter failure).
Filing for extensions of Silent STAs were WESTBURG BROADCASTING MONTGOMERY, LLC (WALQ-A/CARRVILLE, AL, "the current economic climate has made it difficult... to keep WALQ on the air") and THREE ANGELS CORPORATION (WIGT-A/CHARLOTTE AMALIE, VI, damage from Hurricane Irma).
Requesting a Silent STA was IGLESIA CRISTIANA EBENEZER (KPCO-F/COOPER, TX, lost lease).
VANESSA WETTERLING's WPW BROADCASTING, INC. has closed on the sale of Country WSLD/WHITEWATER-JANESVILLE, WI and its related real estate to NORA KARBASH's CMC MEDIA LLC for $1.25 million.
PILGRIM PATHWAY INC. has closed on the sale of Gospel daytimer WBBX-A (PILGRIM PATHWAY)/KINGSTON, TN to JOHN TOLLETT's 3B PROPERTIES, INC. for $5,000.
And XENG XIONG has closed on the transfer of his 50% of ASIAN AMERICAN BROADCASTING, LLC, licensee of Hmong KFXN-A/MINNEAPOLIS, to KONGSUE XIONG, who now owns 100% of the company, for $135,000 as part of a mediated settlement of a lawsuit over business issues.
The Commission also granted CENTRO CRISTIANO DE VIDA's application to transfer K247CP/HOUSTON to ELOHIM GROUP CORP. for no consideration as well as for an extension of its Silent STA for the station, silent since AUGUST 17, 2017 for technical reasons. The extension application was filed on MAY 4th after the previous Silent STA expired on APRIL 14th. GOW MEDIA had filed an informal objection to the sale, contending that the translator was a "wandering station" that had bounced from town to town to end up in HOUSTON on a first-adjacent channel to GOW Sports KFNC (ESPN 97.5)/MONT BELVIEU-HOUSTON and, after agreeing to look for a site that would alleviate the interference, instead proposed a site even closer to KFNC's antenna. The Commission granted GOW's objection to the move but granted the transfer and admonished GOW for agreeing to withdraw an earlier objection in exchange for CENTRO CRISTIANO relocating the translator and also rebroadcast KFNC, the latter portion undisclosed to the Commission in the withdrawal letter.
