EMF Sells One FM In Virginia, Closes On Purchase Of Former WLUP/Chicago

EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION is selling Contemporary Christian WLRB (K-LOVE)/GOOCHLAND-RICHMOND, VA to STUART W. EPPERSON, JR.'s TRUTH BROADCASTING CORPORATION for $150,000.  The buyer plans to convert the station's license back to commercial; EMF converted the station to non-commercial when it purchased the facility from NANCY EPPERSON's DELMARVA EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION (as WZEZ) for $125,000 last year, and then bought crosstown WLFV-WARV from ALPHA MEDIA for $2 million.

EMF has also closed on the purchase of Contemporary Christian WCKL-F (K-LOVE)/CHICAGO, the former Classic Rock WLUP, from CUMULUS for $21.5 million.

In other filings with the FCC, THE MOODY BIBLE INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO is selling Religion WFCM-A and W234DF/SMYRNA, TN to IGLESIA MISIONERA JESUCRISTO VIENE PRONTO INC. for $125,000.

FORKS BROADCASTING INC. has filed for a Silent STA for KFKB-A/FORKS, WA due to siting problems related to zoning and tribal issues.

Due to lack of power at the licensed site after last year's hurricanes, JUAN CARLOS MATOS BARRETO has applied for an STA to operate WNVE/CULEBRA, PR at reduced power from an alternate site at VIEQUES where the station can get power.

In a deal yet to appear in the FCC database but reported by the KEOKUK DAILY GATE CITY/FORT MADISON DAILY DEMOCRAT, CAROLYN and DOYLE BECKER and DAVE BROCK's RIVERFRONT BROADCASTING OF KEOKUK, INC. is selling Country KOKX-A/KEOKUK, IA and Classic Hits WCEZ (Z93)/CARTHAGE, IL to Z93 afternoon host LEAH JONES and KEOKUK City Councilman MIKE GREENWALD for an undisclosed price.
