WSRQ/Sarasota To Flip To Oldies Friday

The SARASOTA HERALD TRIBUNE reports that FLORIDA TALK RADIO News-Talk WSRQ-A-W295BH/SARASOTA will flip to Oldies as "HITLAND SRQ" at 5p (ET) FRIDAY.  The current "SUNCOAST MORNING" show with KAYLENE MCCAW and DAVID WOLFE will continue under the new format.

Owner JIM LAMPL said in a release that talk radio has “become an unsustainable business model" and the change is intended as a "respite from the daily onslaught of negative media.... The change is motivated by a desire to shut off the megaphone that talk radio provides to strident voices.  For too long, some of the most popular national programs have also been the most divisive.”
