SAY ANYTHING front man MAX BEMIS and his wife SHERRI DUPREE BEMIS (of indie-rock outlet EISLEY) have initiated a KICKSTARTER campaign to raise money for four new musical projects -- a new album titled Fight Fair from PERMA (a collaboration between MAX and SHERRI), a solo album from MAX, a solo album from SHERRI, and a release from their daughters, LUCY and CORALINE, under the moniker FLOWER PETAL FLOWER ROSE. The money raised will start the recording, mixing, multimedia creation and free streaming of four next-generation "BEMIS-related" releases at once.
Tomorrow (TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25th), MAX and SHERRI will host a livestream on their KICKSTARTER page, where they will discuss upcoming projects, perform an acoustic set and premiere an acoustic-version of a new PERMA song. The livestream will take place from 8-9 PT.
A demo titled "Fucking With Your Head" was shared via MAX's TWITTER this week and will be featured on his solo EP.
The goal for the KICKSTARTER is to raise $85,000 to help fund mixing, mastering, physical production, and more for each release. Additionally, funds will go towards helping them improve their recording space. Various prizes for pledges include a "SHERRI Lullaby Subscription", a "BEMIS Girls Sticker Sheet", Personalized iPHONE Greeting, and more. The top pledge of $10,000 includes a MAX BEMIS D.I.Y. show featuring SHERRI. The campaign has already raised over $66,000 with over 1,000 backers pledging.
MAX announced on SAY ANYTHING's website that their forthcoming album Oliver Appropriate would be their final LP for the time being, and that he will no longer tour after dealing with a mental breakdown. "I obviously wasn't the one who had to experience the mental breakdown personally ... but it was excruciating to watch MAX go through that," wife SHERRI said. "I felt so helpless at times and that's a horrible feeling when you feel like you can't help the person you love most on earth. But it really did bring us closer together. Despite some of the darkest nights together we pulled through by clinging to one another and not giving up on our love and our family."
