TEJAS BROADCASTING, LTD, LLP is selling Sports KICA-A (ESPN RADIO 980)/CLOVIS, NM to HIGH PLAINS RADIO NETWORK's HPRN NETWORKS LLC for $25,000 plus an LMA before closing.
In other filings with the FCC, applying for STAs were SINCLAIR TELECABLE, INC. (Alternative WROX-F (96X)/EXMORE, VA, reduced power due to transmitter damage); NORTH COAST RADIO, INC. (Smooth Jazz WJZR (NORTH COAST RADIO 105.9)/ROCHESTER, NY, reduced power due to voltage spikes causing failure to several amplifier modules); ENTERCOM LICENSE, LLC (Sports WORD-A (ESPN UPSTATE)/SPARTANBURG, SC, night mode during daylight hours due to lightning strike damage to antenna monitor); and COLORADO RADIO MARKETING LLC (K299AC/GLENWOOD SPRINGS, CO, temporary operation from another site due to loss of licensed site).
Requesting extensions of Silent STAs were CUMULUS LICENSING LLC (KNSH-A/CANYON, TX, problems with antenna tuning unit, with repairs delayed by bankruptcy; KIKR-A/BEAUMONT, TX, tower and ground system problems, repairs also delayed by bankruptcy) and FAMILY STATIONS, INC. (KFRJ/CHINA LAKE, CA and K213CH/RIDGECREST, CA, lease cancellations).
Filing for Silent STAs were FAMILY STATIONS, INC. (K268AJ/REDDING, CA, wildfire damage); SOLID ROCK FOUNDATION (KBDW/LEFORS, TX, lease expiration); and THE CALL, INC. (KSYE/CARTER, OK, silent while new facility on new channel is built).
THE E.W. SCRIPPS COMPANY has closed on the sale of its TULSA cluster -- Country KVOO, Classic Country KXBL (BIG COUNTRY 99.5), News-Talk KFAQ-A, Top 40 KHTT (106.9 K-HITS), and Classic Hits KBEZ (92.9 THE DRIVE)/TULSA -- to GRIFFIN COMMUNICATIONS for $12.5 million.
GOOD NEWS COMMUNICATIONS, INC. has closed on the sale of Adult Standards KCEE-A/TUCSON to CALVARY CHAPEL OF TUCSON, INC. for $150,000.
KANSAS SACRED HEART RADIO CORPORATION has closed on the donation of Religion KQSH (SACRED HEART RADIO)/DODGE CITY, KS to LA PROMESA FOUNDATION for no consideration.
And GALAXY COMMUNICATIONS (GALAXY UTICA LICENSEE LLC) has closed on the sale of Classic Rock WOUR/UTICA, NY to TOWNSQUARE MEDIA LICENSEE OF UTICA/ROME, INC. for $3.95 million. MICHAEL BERGNER of BERGNER AND CO. was exclusive broker for the deal.
The Commission also issued a Notice of Unlicensed Operation to JAMES BRUNELLE (99.9 FM, CANYON COUNTRY, CA).
ZOO COMMUNICATIONS, LLC turned in its license for W228BV/FORT LAUDERDALE, FL.
And CRAWFORD BROADCASTING's DJRA BROADCASTING, LLC has turned in its license for WDCD-A/ALBANY. The station was once a Top 40 powerhouse as WPTR-A, and later programmed Country, News-Talk, Adult Standards, Religion, and Contemporary Christian before falling silent for good in OCTOBER 2017.
