Lukas Nelson And WUIN/Wilmington, NC Team Up For Hurricane Florence Benefit Show

On TUESDAY (10/23) LUKAS NELSON AND PROMISE OF THE REAL performed a benefit show in WILMINGTON, NC to raise funds for NORTH CAROLINA's hurricane relief effort.

The concert was initiated by DAVIS MEDIA Triple A WUIN (THE PENGUIN) GM/PD BEAU GUNN.  NELSON and GUNN became friends and when HURRICANE FLORENCE devastated NORTH CAROLINA in SEPTEMBER, NELSON contacted GUNN to see what they could do together to help the community.

"When I heard that WILMINGTON had been hit really hard, the first thing I thought of was how many amazing people we know there that have come out in the last few years to see us," NELSON said.  "So, I called my buddy BEAU and asked what we could do to help."

The event took place at the GREENFIELD LAKE AMPHITHEARE and raised $62,000.

All proceeds will be donated to: NOURISH NC, SALVATION ARMY OF CAPE FEAR, FOOD BANK OF CENTRAL & EASTERN NC AT WILMINGTON, GOOD SHEPHERD CENTER, CAPE FEARLESS CHALLENGE and THE HARRELSON CENTER.

Further, the evening kicked off with WILMINGTON's mayor BILL SAFFO presenting NELSON with the key to the city
