PARAGON MEDIA CEO MIKE HENRY shares sad news with ALL ACCESS, "that radio programming veteran JIM TRAPP died on FRIDAY (11/23) in SEATTLE after a bout with cancer. I consulted JIM in three markets... Triple A KZON/PHOENIX, Rock Alternative KZZO/SACRAMENTO in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and ENTERCOM Adult Hits KJAQ (96.5 JACK FM)/SEATTLE in the early 2010s.
"JIM was one of the most creative PDs I ever worked with, and easily the best writer of radio imaging. He was funny, incredibly intelligent, and had a great view of the world around him. He took care of his autistic son for many years and took him wherever he went. For several years, JIM authored 'The TRAPP Report," which was a seminal Alternative trade publication in the 1980s and 1990s."
TRAPP was most recently the OM for TOWNSQUARE MEDIA/YAKIMA's six-station cluster, which included Country KDBL (92.9 THE BULL), Rock KATS, Top 40/Rhythmic KFFM, News/Talk KIT, Sports KUTI-A (1460 ESPN YAKIMA), and Urban Oldies KMGW (MEGA 99.3). In addition to his OM duties, TRAPP handled programming for KIT and MEGA 99.3.
