Former iHEARTRADIO Top 40 KBKS (KISS-FM)/SEATTLE morning host BENDER spent the week before CHRISTMAS in his family room, raising money -- for the 18th year in a row -- for the Uncompensated Care Fund at SEATTLE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL. Unlike past years, where he solicited donations while on-air at KBKS, BENDER used his FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM and TWITTER pages (@TheBenderNation) to ask friends and loyal followers to donate.
After a two-hour session in the morning and another hour in the evening, over $61,000 in donations was raised in online donations and offline pledges. So far, donations total more than $70,200 and are still welcome at GiveToTheKids.com. It brings Bender's 18 year fundraising total to over $15.8 million.
"Our team is incredibly grateful to BENDER for his amazing dedication to our kids and families when they need it most," SEATTLE CHILDREN'S CEO DR. JEFF SPERRING said. "This support is what allows us to fulfill our mission and make sure that every child has access to the care that they need at SEATTLE CHILDREN'S."
