SHANE MCANALLY has been named the ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC (ACM) AWARDS’ Songwriter Of The Year. The honor was announced over the weekend (4/6) at the culmination of the “ACM STORIES, SONGS & STARS” songwriters’ show in LAS VEGAS. Show hosts HILLARY SCOTT and STORME WARREN presented the award to MCANALLY, alongside reigning ACM Songwriter Of The Year RHETT AKINS.
MCANALLY has been the recipient of 19 total ACM Award nominations and two previous ACM Award wins. This year marked his sixth nomination in the Songwriter Of The Year category.
Performers at the event included BRANTLEY GILBERT, LITTLE BIG TOWN, MIDLAND, OLD DOMINION, JAKE OWEN, THOMAS RHETT, CHASE RICE, AKINS and MCANALLY, among others. Portions of the show’s proceeds benefit ACM LIFTING LIVES, the group’s philanthropic arm.
