ALL3MEDIA AMERICA’s MAIN EVENT MEDIA production house (CNN's "THE UNITED SHADES OF AMERICA WITH W. KAMAU BELL," INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY's "BREAKING HOMICIDE") is producing a slate of new podcasts in partnership with AUDIOBOOM with an eye towards developing the content for film and television.
MAIN EVENT's new podcast division will be headed by EMILY BON and will launch with five shows, including "FULL HOUSE" and "FULLER HOUSE" co-star JODIE SWEETIN and life coach CELIA BEHAR's single-parenting podcast "NEVER THOUGHT I'D SAY THIS"; "UNCUFFED WITH DERRICK LEVASSEUR," with the host of INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY's "BREAKING HOMICIDE"; MATT BIRKBECK's true crime "FINDING SHARON," spun off from his bestselling books "A BEAUTIFUL CHILD" and "FINDING SHARON"; "TRUMPMANIA," a look at WWE's role in the president's ascendance, based on LAVIE MARGOLIN's book of the same name; and "DAUGHTERS OF THE CULT," the story of a Mormon fundamentalist cult hosted by ANNA and CELIA LEBARON, daughters of cult leader ERVIL LEBARON.
MAIN EVENT MEDIA Pres. JIMMY FOX said, “The biggest motivation behind the launch of this division was simple -- creative control. It’s incredibly refreshing as a producer to find talent you enjoy working with or a story that deeply fascinates you and immediately be able to give yourself the green light. Through our audio slate we hope to incubate projects that can later travel to TV and film, but most importantly, we hope to build franchises that will appeal to a loyal fan base of listeners.”
"MAIN EVENT MEDIA is introducing an eclectic and entertaining lineup for both the avid podcast listener and people who are interested but haven’t yet engaged with podcasts," said AUDIOBOOM SVP/Content Partnerships BRENDAN REGAN. "We’re excited to have them join the AUDIOBOOM ORIGINALS NETWORK and we look forward to helping MAIN EVENT MEDIA seize the dynamic opportunities to come.”
