ENTRAVISION COMMUNICATIONS CORP. firs- quarter 2019 net revenue fell 3% year-to-year to $64.68 million, blamed on decreases in the radio and digital segments and a shift to programmatic, offsetting a gain on the television side, but net income rose from a loss of $1.808 million to a gain of $1.424 million (-2 to 2 cents/basic and diluted share). Radio revenue slipped 15% to $11.955 million and digital fell 21% to $14.472 million, while television saw an 11% increase to $38.253 million.
Chairman/CEO WALTER F. ULLOA said, "Our first-quarter results were impacted by declines in our radio and digital segments compared to the prior year. However, we did achieve growth in our television segment over the first quarter of 2018. We continue to maintain a solid balance sheet and return capital to our shareholders through our share repurchase program and dividend. Looking ahead, we remain well positioned to build on our success in further attracting Latino and other audiences worldwide, as we execute our multiplatform strategy to the benefit of our shareholders."
