The "Stand Up for BETSY ROSS" T-shirts sold by RUSH LIMBAUGH in response to NIKE's cancellation of its "BETSY ROSS" shoes have resulted in $2 million raised for the STEPHEN SILLER TUNNEL TO TOWERS FOUNDATION, which is paying off the mortgages of six police, fire, and ARMY officers who died in the line of duty.
“Thanks to the generosity of RUSH and (his wife) KATHRYN, and the listeners of THE RUSH LIMBAUGH SHOW, six families who have lost their husbands and fathers, killed while they were protecting us at home and abroad, can rest a little easier knowing they own their homes free and clear,” said TUNNEL TO TOWERS CEO and Chairman FRANK SILLER.
The foundation paid off the mortgages of KISSIMMEE, FL police officer MATT BAXTER, APPLETON, WI firefighter MITCHELL LUNDGAARD, AUBURN, AL, police officer WILLIAM BUECHNER, KIRKERSVILLE, OH, Police Chief STEVEN DISARIO, ARIZONA Deputy U.S. Marshal CHASE WHITE, and U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 JONATHAN FARMER.
"It’s the greatest thing. It’s one of the most uplifting things that I have been involved in because this is the American people…generating enough revenue to be able to send $2 million to the TUNNEL TO TOWERS FOUNDATION," said LIMBAUGH.
