Nashville Songwriter Dennis Linde Passes

One of Country music's most influential songwriters, DENNIS LINDE, passed away on DECEMBER 22.
In their obituary of LINDE, the NY TIMES referred to him as "an influential, yet publicity shy songwriter" who penned ELVIS PRESLEY's 1972 hit "Burning Love" and the 1999 smash for the DIXIE CHICKS, "Goodbye Earl."
LINDE, born in ABILENE, TX, was 63 when he died from a lung disease called idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. He is survived by a son, two daughters and his wife. To read the TIMES piece, click here.
