As hinted on ALL ACCESS last week (NET NEWS 12/26), nine-year CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 KDWB/MINNEAPOLIS PD ROB MORRIS has been promoted to the newly created post of OM of KDWB and N/T KTLK. At the same time KTLK PD DOUG WESTERMAN adds Exec. Producer duties for MINNESOTA VIKINGS football, a position he held until FALL 2006.
CLEAR CHANNEL VP/Programming GREGG SWEDBERG said, "The moves are great for our MINNEAPOLIS stations. It allows DOUG to return to the VIKINGS broadcasts, and puts ROB's tremendous programming mind behind our fastest growing station, KTLK."
Pres. MICK ANSELMO said, "ROB is a great programmer, and this opportunity will give KTLK a new level of focus."
The move also accompanies a long-term contract deal between MORRIS and CC/MINNEAPOLIS. "I am so humbled and elated to be given this opportunity from CHARLIE RAHILLY, MICK ANSELMO, GREGG SWEDBERG and MICHAEL MARTIN," MORRIS said. "You win with people, and we have a great team. I am thrilled to be allowed to guide the legendary 101.3 KDWB and now KTLK to even greater success in 2007 and beyond!"
