Apparently, superstar rapper and ROC NATION mogul JAY-Z has bigger things on his mind than just forming an entertainment and social justice partnership with the NFL (NET NEWS 8/13). TMZ SPORTS reports that JAY-Z has his eyes on becoming a part-owner of an NFL team.
"Sources connected to JAY and with direct knowledge tell us ... JAY is going to have a 'significant ownership interest' in an NFL team,' TMZ wrote. "As for which team ... we're not being told, but we are told 'it is going to happen in the near future'."

However, this potential deal is not going over well with everyone. Take for example CAROLINA PANTHERS safety ERIC REID. According to a report on ESPN, REID trashed JAY-Z for suggesting "we've moved past kneeling" during the national anthem as a protest against social injustice.
REID also "suggested that JAY-Z's new partnership with the NFL to help with entertainment and social justice is a 'money move' that undercuts former SAN FRANCISCO 49ers quarterback COLIN KAEPERNICK, who has been without an NFL job since the 2016 season, when he and REID began kneeling to protest police brutality and social injustice."
Meanwhile, DJ KHALED has come down on the positive side of this, backing JAY-Z and his moves to do business with the NFL and take ownership in a team, according to TMZ.
But on the other side of things, iHEARTMEDIA Urban WWPR (POWER 105.1)/NEW YORK and PREMIERE syndicated radio show BREAKFAST CLUB's CHARLAMAGNE THA GOD took to INSTAGRAM to protest that his convo with NFL Commissioner ROGER GOODELL and members of the media was edited to exclude questions about COLIN KAEPERNICK still out of a job and GODELL responding, "No, owners can sign him whenever they want."
This wouldn't be the first time JAY-Z has dabbled in sports ownership; he was a minority owner of the BROOKLYN NETS before selling his stake in 2013.
