Westwood One 2019 Audioscape Report Looks At Second-Quarter Podcast, Smart Speaker Usage

WESTWOOD ONE is highlighting research on podcasting and smart speaker usage in a blog post with second quarter data from its 2019 Audioscape report.
Among the findings, AM/FM radio (18% in second quarter) and AMAZON MUSIC (17%) lead in share of smart speaker time spent listening; ownership of smart speaker devices in AMERICA tripled from second quarter 2017 to second quarter 2019 (10% to 30%); the number of marketers and agencies using smart speaker options doubled from 18% in JANUARY 2018 to 36% in MARCH 2019, according to a WESTWOOD ONE-commissioned ADVERTISER PERCEPTIONS survey; and Millennial (18-34) podcast reach is ip 13% year-to-year to 17.3%, driven by growth among African Americans, Hispanics, and women.
