Third Radio Milwaukee/Gener8tor Scholarships Awarded

RADIO MILWAUKEE Triple A WYMS’ scholarship program BACKLINE, in partnership with business accelerator GENER8TOR, has just announced the third group of recipients. The educational initiative is meant to help MILWAUKEE musicians succeed, establish MILWAUKEE’s reputation as an emerging music city and help the city's companies attract and retain young employees.

These three musical artists will receive the program’s fall $20,000 grants and intensive 12-week mentorships:

* BRAVO, an R&B/pop artist. 

* IMMORTAL GIRLFRIEND, a production duo and retro/electronic band made up of brothers WILLIAM and KEVIN BUSH. 

* SAM AHMED, also known as WEBSTERX, who delivers a sound that rides a fine line of genres, experimenting with elements of hip-hop/rap, indie rock, and electronic. 

“THIS COHORT IS VERY SPECIAL,” BACKLINE PD MAG RODRIGUEZ said. “These artists represent what makes MILWAUKEE such a rich and diverse music city. [Since] starting the program, we have accomplished so much, and we expect a big year for all of them in 2020." 

This year’s spring and fall artists will perform as part of the 12th annual RADIO MILWAUKEE MUSIC AWARDS at TURNER HALL BALLROOM on DECEMBER 14th.
