Two NEW YORK-area college students will win free tickets for consultant JASON BARRETT's BSM SUMMIT, scheduled for FEBRUARY 26th and 27th at the AILEY CITIGROUP THEATER in NEW YORK, in a video competition. Students can submit a two-minute video explaining why they want to be at the conference to JBarrett@sportsradiopd.com; the videos should include a list of steps the entrant has taken to look into opportunities in the sports meia business and any available clips of their work. BARRETT SPORTS MEDIA wil select one winner, and another will be chosen by WESTWOOD ONE and CUMULUS MEDIA SVP of Sports BRUCE GILBERT.
"Gaining knowledge and building relationships is essential for all broadcasters, but especially for young people who are just getting started," said BARRETT. "Knowing how fortunate we are to have a lot of bright and accomplished people in the room for our SUMMIT, I wanted to use the opportunity to help young broadcasters by treating them to an in-depth education on the sports media business, and granting them an opportunity to establish connections for the future."Entrants must be enrolled at a college in the NEW YORK-NEW JERSEY-CONNECTICUT Tri-State Area (within 90 miles of NEW YORK CITY) and must be pursuing a degree involving course work either in radio, television, print or the digital business, or attending a broadcasting trade school. Submissions can be made throughout NOVEMBER; winners will be announced on DECEMBER 4th.
