As ALL ACCESS tipped YESTERDAY (NET NEWS 1/9), WESTWOOD ONE will syndicate a new daily DENNIS MILLER show launching in MARCH. The deal with the comedian includes a relaunch of his website, which will feature listener blogs and podcasts.
“This seems like a great fit for me since I grew up in PITTSBURGH where broadcast radio was born,” said MILLER. “I always knew I would try radio, and right now seems like the perfect time. In a world where the stakes are high, the medium is a nice blend of the comfortable and the provocative. I look forward to working with WESTWOOD ONE and soon being able to finally say aloud the words, ‘I’m up against a hard break.'”
WW1 will also be syndicating clips from NBC's late-night shows "THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO" and "LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O'BRIEN." The clips will be 90 seconds in length and will feature comedy monologue excerpts from the previous night's television broadcast.
"We are thrilled to expand our relationship with NBC UNIVERSAL in having these two TV titans join WESTWOOD ONE's roster of marquee radio talent," said WW1 Sr. VP/Programming BART TESSLER. "Between the proven success of our other comedy features and the addition of JAY and CONAN, there is no doubt that WESTWOOD ONE is dominating late-night comedy on radio."
