CC Celebrates 'Less Is More' Anniversary

CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO CEO JOHN HOGAN emailed his executive VPs with a message of praise for the job they've done implementing the company's "Less Is More" advertising inventory reduction plan.
HOGAN's email, titled "Moving from Validation to Momentum," said, "Two and a half years ago, we introduced major change into our business and our industry," noting that while the plan included elements for infusing new creativity into the company's programming and expanding CLEAR CHANNEL's distribution platforms, it was the plan's reduction in commercial minutes that garnered the most attention.
"Less Is More was sometimes used by others to describe the full package, but it truthfully describes only one piece of the transformation. I'm looking forward to meeting the challenges of 2007. They are different, but they are no less daunting, as we move to take on cable, newspapers, and other competition for local and national ad dollars."
