Toledo Mayor Tries To Bar WSPD Hosts From Press Conference

CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WSPD-A/TOLEDO hosts FRED LEFEBVRE, KEVIN MILLIKEN, and BRIAN WILSON had to push their way -- literally -- into TOLEDO Mayor CARTY FINKBEINER's news conference WEDNESDAY in the latest round in the battle between the station and the Mayor's office.
The TOLEDO BLADE reports that the Mayor's Public Information Officer BRIAN SCHWARTZ tried to close the door on the trio when they arrived to cover the event, the day after MILLIKEN had been kept out the Mayor's appearance announcing the city's MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY plans at the UNIVERSITY OF TOLEDO by SCHWARTZ. SCHWARTZ allowed WSPD reported NIC RAJKOVIC into the WEDNESDAY conference but tried to bar the hosts from the room, and, when he failed to keep the hosts out, cancelled the press conference. The Mayor's office has been embroiled in a feud with MILLIKEN over his critical reports on WSPD and in the TOLEDO FREE PRESS.
