A five-hour "Zoom-a-thon" video conference event held by the PHILADELPHIA 76ERS-oriented podcast "RIGHTS TO RICKY SANCHEZ" raised $16,377 for three PHILADELPHIA-area charities on SUNDAY (3/29).
The event, with hosts SPIKE ESKIN (PD at ENTERCOM Sports WIP/PHILADELPHIA) and MIKE LEVIN (a writer on NBC sitcom "PERFECT HARMONY") and guests video-streaming on ZOOM, raised the donations for the PROVIDENCE ANIMAL CENTER, CODED BY KIDS, and PHILABUNDANCE. The show, which gained national prominence for its championing of the SIXERS' "Process" and former GM SAM HINKIE and its live events centering around the NBA Draft, is also selling merchandise to add to the charity total, including posters and t-shirts.
In addition, an EP with cover versions of a song composed for the show by "TONI TONY TATONE" (a character created by singer/songwriter AMOS LEE) featuring ELIZA HARDY JONES, MT. JOY's MATT QUINN, DAVE HARTLEY (NIGHTLANDS, THE WAR ON DRUGS), and LEE's musical director JARED OLEVSKY singing TONY T's PHILADELPHIA anthem "You Don't F-ck Wit' Me (And I Won't F-ck Wit' You)," is also being sold for the causes through midnight TODAY (3/30), and items from advertisers are being auctioned as well.
