Former ENTERCOM Alternative KRBZ (96.5 THE BUZZ)/KANSAS CITY morning host AFENTRA BANDOKOUDIS is suing ENTERCOM for discrimination and retaliation, according to a report in the KANSAS CITY STAR. The suit seeks back pay, lost wages and liquidated damages for sexual discrimination and retaliatory firing.
BANDOKOUDIS, who hosted at the station in 2002-2007 and 2009-2018, is alleging that the station paid male hosts, including her ex-husband SCOTT "LAZLO" GEIGER, more then she despite "consistently outperforming" them, making a base of $100,000 while GEIGER made $185,000 and sister Active Rock KQRC (THE ROCK 98.9) morning man "JOHNNY DARE" CAPREFOLI was paid more than that, with both men paid endorsement fees and bonuses.
She also alleges that DARE received preferential treatment for guest booking and that she drafted a complaint letter to send to ENTERCOM but GEIGER learned about the letter and "berated" her over it before telling management what was in the letter, after which, she claims, GEIGER was replaced as her supervisor but still had approval rights over her social media posts on the station account.
After her termination at THE BUZZ, BANDOKOUDIS briefly hosted afternoons at crosstown CUMULUS Alternative KCJK (105.1 THE X) in 2019.
