ALL ACCESS sends thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of DOUG WILSON, Christian KTLF (LIGHT PRAISE 90.5)/COLORADO SPRINGS's Chief Engineer, who was found dead in the station’s transmitter shack last FRIDAY (1/19).
No official word has come from the coroner’s office, but GM KAREN VEAZEY tells ALL ACCESS that the preliminary belief is that a heart attack was the cause of death. “He had no history of heart problems, but there have been several young heart-attack deaths in his family,” she said.
An experienced mountaineer, WILSON took his ATV with snow treads and full survival gear to check the accessibility of a site in the mountains needing repair due to the large amount of snow this winter. It appears he left his ATV and hiked the remaining way to the transmitter shack, which was warm and equipped with landline and mobile phone service. As such, it’s believed that what happened to WILSON was pretty sudden, as no evidence points to a connection to any of the equipment he was near.
