The FCC has named the participants in its Task Force on "Media and Childhood Obesity: Today and Tomorrow," which holds its first meeting on FEBRUARY 14, but radio isn't evidently represented among the long list of media companies and advertisers taking part.
Among the participants are the WALT DISNEY CO., VIACOM, ION MEDIA NETWORKS, TELEMUNDO, the PARENTS TELEVISION COUNCIL, and many representatives of the advertising, food, and other industries. The panel will look at the media's role in the rise in obesity rates for children.
