MAGIC BROADCASTING Country WTVY/DOTHAN is getting involved in the case of the BORDER PATROL agents convicted of shooting an illegal immigrant, campaigning for President BUSH to issue a pardon of the agents. The station's website contains an explanation of the pardon process and urges listeners to call or write to the President's Pardon Attorney and to Attorney General ALBERTO GONZALES asking that he tell the prosecutor to offer a reduced sentence in a plea bargain. Agents IGNACIO RAMOS and JOSE ALONSO COMPEAN have begun serving ten year sentences for the shooting.
The station is asking other radio stations to get involved in the "Country Cares About Our Country" campaign, conducted in conjunction with grassfire.org, as well. Instructions, links, and addresses are posted on the station's website. Click here for the details.
