EMMIS Alternative KPNT (105.7 THE POINT)/ST. LOUIS dropped syndicated ROVER'S MORNING GLORY this morning (1/26) and announced that DONNIE FANDANGO will return to THE POINT to host mornings starting MONDAY, JANUARY 29. The new morning show, "THE FANDANGO EXPERIMENT," will focus on the music.
DONNIE, who previously did afternoons at THE POINT, will have free reign over the music and will be experimenting on-air with different playlist themes, on-demand requests, and listener input on which band or artist to play next. CHRISTY SWYERS will join DONNIE for news, sports, traffic, and weather.
KPNT PD TOMMY MATTERN said, "THE POINT is always asking our listeners for input when it comes to the radio station. The demand for a local morning show that plays music has been overwhelming -- therefore I'm happy to introduce THE FANDANGO EXPERIMENT."
"I'm excited to be back on 105.7 THE POINT," said FANDANGO, who was formerly on the air from 1996-2001. "I'm personally excited that THE POINT is going to be playing music in the morning and even more excited to be the guy delivering it to POINT listeners. This is truly a unique morning opportunity!"
