COLUMBIA RECORDS/NASHVILLE has announced that 15-year industry veteran JIMMY RECTOR has been named VP/National Promotion, replacing LARRY PAREIGIS, who exited last week. The announcement was made by SONY BMG Exec. VP BUTCH WAUGH. The move marks a return home for RECTOR, who spent 6 1/2 years at BNA before moving on to RAYBAW as Head of Promotion. He was at RAYBAW for just over a year. His resume also includes stints at DECCA and CAPITOL.
“This is a great day at SONY BMG/NASHVILLE," said WAUGH. JIMMY's love of the artists, the music, and all the people here at SONY BMG makes him the perfect choice for this position. JIMBO has always been ahead of the curve when it comes to promotion, but his wealth of experience and knowledge brings added value to this position that will spill over into all areas of the company. Everyone here shares my enthusiasm in having JIMMY come home.”
RECTOR will be on his new job on FEBRUARY 1 and will report directly to BUTCH WAUGH. After FEBRUARY 1 he can be reached at Jimmy.Rector@sonybmg.com.
