JOURNAL BROADCAST GROUP has made several adjustments in its management alignment to heighten its focus on interactive and new-media opportunities.
Exec. VP/Television & Radio Operations & Interactive Media CARL GARDNER, who has been working with JBG's web teams to launch dozens of sites and revenue initiatives over the past few years, now has responsibility for building and leading that business across all JBG markets; he also continues to oversee the MILWAUKEE, GREEN BAY and LANSING broadcast markets.
STEVE WEXLER is upped to Exec. VP/Television & Radio Operations and adds responsibility for the KNOXVILLE radio market.
JIM PRATHER, also a JBG Exec. VP/Television & Radio Operations, adds responsibility for JBG's BOISE cross-platform television and radio market.
JIM THOMAS becomes VP/Marketing, Programming & New Media Development and is responsible for developing new programs, new channels and cross-media initiatives to create ratings, revenue and additional reach. THOMAS will help JBG integrate its cross-platform product initiatives and develop new products and multicasting opportunities.
"Responding to the changing audience base and a commitment to building successful businesses in both interactive and traditional media requires focus and dedication -- which is why JOURNAL BROADCAST GROUP is adjusting its organizational structure," said JOURNAL COMMUNICATIONS Pres. and JBG Vice Chairman/CEO DOUG KIEL. "We believe these moves will heighten the efforts of our company and extend our successful brands across multiple media platforms. This realignment of several of our key executives should help us take advantage of opportunities in the interactive and new-media space, while at the same time maintaining a strong focus in our core broadcast business."
