Total Radio Revenue Rose 1% In 2006, 3% In Q4

Grand total radio revenues increased 1% from 2005 to 2006, boosted by a 10% rise in non-spot dollars over that same time period, the RAB reports. Total combined local, national and network sales figures were flat for 2006 compared to 2005, as national business grew 5% in a year-over-year comparison and local ad sales fell 1%. Network radio decreased 2% year over year.
For 2006's fourth quarter, grand total revenue grew 3% when compared to that same quarter from a year ago; non-spot dollars increased 12%. Total combined local and national ad sales dollars also grew 3% from Q4 2005 to Q4 2006, with national revenue soaring 12% and local revenue ending the quarter flat from Q4 2005.
And for the month of DECEMBER, grand total radio revenue grew 1% over DECEMBER 2005, with non-spot revenue increasing 8% for the month. Total combined local and national ad sales stayed flat from DECEMBER 2005, as national ad sales grew 6% and local sales figures fell 1%.
