XM SATELLITE RADIO inks XM PUBLIC RADIO morning host (and newly minted AFTRA President) BOB EDWARDS to a new multi-year deal with terms not disclosed. EDWARDS, the longtime NPR "MORNING EDITION" host, joined XM about three years ago.
"Since jumping to satellite radio nearly three years ago, I have probably done some of the finest work of my career and am pleased to be extending my association with XM," said EDWARDS. "Not only have I been lucky enough to work with a brilliant and industrious group of producers, but have appreciated the creative freedom afforded me by XM to pursue stories that might never have been aired by traditional terrestrial broadcasters. The audience reaction has been outstanding, and I look forward to continue bringing the unique stories of AMERICA to the XM audience in the years ahead."
"We are honored that BOB will continue to call XM his home," said EVP/Programming ERIC LOGAN. "For more than 30 years he has been a trustworthy voice for important issues and engaging broadcasting. THE BOB EDWARDS SHOW has played a key role in the development of XM PUBLIC RADIO’s national profile, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with BOB and his talented production team for many years to come."
