FCC Fines Pirate, Proposes More Late License Renewal App Fines

The FCC has fined GARY TOUSSAINT $10,000 for operating a pirate station on 102.9 FM in MATTAPAN, MA. TOUSSAINT told the Commission he would submit documentation for his hardship claim that he is unable to pay the full amount, but the FCC says TOUSSAINT failed to submit that proof.
And the Commission continued to issue proposed fines for late license renewal applications (along with granting the renewals), including $1,500 fines proposed for LAC COURTE OREILLES OJIBWA PUBLIC BROADCASTING CORPORATION (WOJB/RESERVE, WI), LIVING WORD COMMUNICATIONS INC. (W232AR/MARSHFIELD, WI), FAITH FELLOWSHIP MINISTRIES INC. (WJHV-LP/FAIRBURY, IL), NORTHWESTERN COLLEGE (K218AR/WASHBURN, WI), and TEA-VISZ, INC. (W272AY/PARK FALLS, WI); a $3,500 fine for RALLA BROADCASTING COMPANY INC. (WCAZ-A/CARTHAGE, IL); and $7,000 fines for CALVARY CHAPEL (CHURCH) OF MENOMONIE (WRJF-LP/MENOMONIE, WI) and NORTHEASTERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY (WZRD/CHICAGO).
