'City Of Ali' Celebrates Muhammad Ali's Legacy, Marks His Passing

Today marks five years since the passing of MUHAMMAD ALI, JUNE 3rd, 2016 in SCOTTSDALE, AZ at the age of 74.

Tomorrow, a new documentary, “City of ALI," directed by GRAHAM SHELBY and produced by longtime music supervisor and label executive JONATHAN McHUGH, details how the death of the champion boxer and worldwide icon brought the people of his KENTUCKY hometown -- and the world -- together for one unforgettable week. 

ALI's passing came during a bitter U.S. Presidential election, a proposed MUSLIM ban and the global expansion of the BLACK LIVES MATTER movement. On the day of ALI’s funeral procession, more than 100,000 people lined the streets of LOUSVILLE to celebrate his life, with a billion people tuning in worldwide. The film captures the event with numerous interviews.
