KCBI/Dallas Prepares Annual 'Valentines For Kidz'
February 12, 2007 at 11:40 AM (PT)
The Christian Inspirational KCBI/DALLAS morning show, KCBI’s nationally syndicated children’s radio program “COCONUT HUT RADIO SHOW” and other KCBI staff members will deliver hundreds of bags of VALENTINE’S DAY cards to children at COOK CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL/FT. WORTH and SCOTTISH RITE HOSPITAL/DALLAS on FEBRUARY 14 as a part of the station’s annual “VALENTINES FOR KIDZ.”
New to the event this year, BONGO ROD of the “COCONUT HUT RADIO SHOW” will perform a puppet show for the children at SCOTTISH RITE at 10:30a and at COOK CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL at 2:30p.
"Considering I picked up more than 10,000 Valentines from one company last week, I think it’s safe to say that the total number of donated Valentines might be in the 20,000 or 30,000 range,” said morning show co-host TERRI BARRETT.
KCBI listeners have been donating thousands of handmade VALENTINE’S DAY cards for several weeks now. The response to this year’s “VALENTINES FOR KIDZ” has been so great that thousands of cards were also delivered to PARKLAND HOSPITAL/DALLAS and MEDICAL CITY HOSPITAL/DALLAS. Plans are also in the works to deliver cards to JOHN PETER SMITH HOSPITAL/FT. WORTH.
