Crowley Moves To X1039 Mornings

BAHAKEL COMMUNICATIONS Alternative KRXP (X1039)/COLORADO SPRINGS, CO night jock CROWLEY (ANDY CROWL) is moving mornings starting TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7th. Current morning host, SUMMER JUSTICE will continue to be in mornings as News Director, delivering an hourly dose of national/local headlines, weather and wrapping up the morning with 103 minutes of nothing but music. SUMMER will continue to keep SOUTHERN COLORADO connected with the local music scene every FRIDAY at 9a with X1039’s COLORADO NATIVE. She also continues pulling double duty as the morning news girl on sister Active Rock KILO. SUMMER remains Promotions/Digital/Graphics Coordinator and host of the Sunday morning community news program “Street Beat.”

X1039 PD SHAWN ROCK said, “CROWLEY will be bringing a new edge to X1039 Mornings as well as 15+ years of on-air and production talent. I’ve worked with ANDY CROWL since 2006. I’ve watched him move from an award-winning night show to an award-winning afternoon show and fully expect the same to happen for X1039 Mornings. He’s got a unique outlook on life and I can’t wait for him to share it with the morning masses in SOUTHERN COLORADO. I’d also add that SUMMER has built a great platform for him to land on and build it up even more.  I’m very excited for each of them to keep growing to their full potential both on and off the air and by streamlining our lineup on X1039, the sky’s the limit!” 

New. Now Debuts Sunday Nights

In other station news, X1039 MD CATE CARRIER will host a SUNDAY evening new music specialty show called, “New. Now,” serving as a companion to the X1039 weekly podcast, “What’s New Now” hosted by SHAWN ROCK, CATE CARRIER, and SUMMER JUSTICE focusing on weekly new music releases, news and artist interviews. New, Now replaces X 1039’s Revolution Rock hosted by CROWLEY on SUNDAY evenings from 5-7p. In addition, CATE has kicked off a new music song battle segment weekdays at 3p with X1039’s Three O’Clock Throwdown, which pits two new songs against each other. Voting occurs on X1039’s social media platforms and through the app. The winning song takes on another new song each day. 

Weekender AUBREY BISHOP replaces CROWLEY at night and retains her duties as Promotions Asst.
