Texas Noncomm Pays $3K To FCC In Underwriting Settlement

CSSI NON-PROFIT EDUCATIONAL BROADCASTING CORP. settles underwriting announcement violation problems with the FCC by paying $3,000 under a consent decree. The offending announcements aired on noncommercial KSQX/SPRINGTOWN, TX and KMQX & KYQX/WEATHERFORD, TX.
And in another round of proposed fines for late license renewal application filings, the FCC proposed fines of $1,500 on FRIENDS OF CHRISTIAN RADIO (K228DI/SIDNEY, NE), CHRISTIAN MEDIA INC. (KCMI/TERRYTOWN, NE), NEW CASTLE BROADCASTING SERVICE INC. (WHHC-LP/NEW CASTLE, IN), and TOP O' TEXAS EDUCATIONAL BROADCASTING FOUNDATION (K202AG/ELK CITY, OK); $3,000 on CALVARY CHAPEL OF TWIN FALLS INC. (K201FP and K216FR/ARAPAHO and CLINTON, OK); and $7,000 on COLBY COMMUNITY COLLEGE (KTCC/COLBY, KS), CARPENTER TRANSLATOR GROUP (K299AM/CARPENTER, SD), COVENANT LIFE MINISTRIES INC. (KLGB-LP/ENID, OK), BOULDER TV ASSOCIATION (K296AN/BOULDER, MT), BIG SKY OWNERS ASSOCIATION INC. (K257AE/WEST FORK, MT), and LA TREMENDA RADIO MEXICO INC. (KZUE-A/EL RENO, OK).
