MEDIABASE, the airplay monitoring and research division of PREMIERE RADIO NETWORKS, announced today it will provide airplay information to be included in online media measurement service BIGCHAMPAGNE's new daily chart offerings. Together, MEDIABASE and BIGCHAMPAGNE will provide the radio and recording industries with integrated tools for exploring the relationship between online music and traditional airplay daily.
MEDIABASE and BIGCHAMPAGNE will use analysis of countless songs and listening patterns of consumers that will be offered on a barter basis. EMMIS RADIO is the first to sign up for BIGCHAMPAGNE, in addition to renewing its exclusive group deal with MEDIABASE through 2008.
Mediabase customers live in a 24/7 real-time world and, with this new partnership, so does digital music intelligence.
EMMIS RADIO Pres. RICK CUMMINGS said, "In a highly competitive environment, JIMMY STEAL and the EMMIS programmers insist on the best research tools available. MEDIABASE and BIGCHAMPAGNE have proven to be leaders in their respective areas. EMMIS is pleased to enter into this long-term agreement."
BIGCHAMPAGNE CEO ERIC GARLAND said, "Many people don’t realize the degree to which the Internet has eclipsed traditional music measurement. The fact is that today people get more of their music online than on CD. Because radio and the net are the leading indicators in the business, our longstanding relationship with PREMIERE RADIO NETWORKS makes this a critical partnership for us."
And MEDIABASE Pres. and PREMIERE EVP RICH MEYER said, "We are pleased to bring real-time reporting to BIGCHAMPAGNE’s online charts and analysis. MEDIABASE customers live in a 24/7 real-time world and, with this new partnership, so does digital music intelligence. We look forward to delivering incredibly valuable research information to our radio and record company partners."
