Cisco, Apple To Share 'iPhone' Name

CISCO SYSTEMS and APPLE INC. have settled their trademark-infringement suit, with both companies now free to use the iPHONE name on their products. "Both companies acknowledge the trademark ownership rights that have been granted, and each side will dismiss any pending actions regarding the trademark," the companies said in a joint statement.
In addition, CISCO and APPLE will explore opportunities for interoperability in the areas of security and communications. Other terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
