CLEAR CHANNEL/LOS ANGELES Market President GREG ASHLOCK has announced that former KOHT (HOT 98.3)/TUCSON PD and air personality RANDY "R DUB" WILLIAMS will take over the PD post at Rhythmic AC KHHT (HOT 92 JAMZ)/L.A. R-DUB, also the creator and host of SUPERADIO's SUNDAY NITE SLOW JAMS, takes over at HOT 92 JAMZ on MARCH 19. R DUB has spent the last 10 years at KOHT and takes the reins from MIKE MARINO, who announced his resignation FEBRUARY 2.
ASHLOCK commented, "Filling this position was challenging. HOT is not your typical Rhythmic station by definition, as it was specifically designed for the unique demographic of SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. The music mix doesn’t fit into a standard ‘format box.’ HOT has a five-year history of strong and steady ratings, so it’s not about making big changes. It’s about understanding how the station fits into the market, how to seamlessly blend Old School favorites with the best of Today’s R&B, and how to image the station accordingly. R DUB ‘gets it.'
"He [R DUB] lived in L.A. for close to 10 years, and his expertise and passion for HOT’s music are exactly what we were looking for. We are thrilled to welcome him to a very strong and passionate team."
R DUB said, "I couldn't be more excited about working with this team and being at this station. For years I've called HOT 92 JAMZ my favorite station (I listened online almost every day), and now I'm ecstatic to be a part of it. I'm looking forward to working for one of the country's most unique radio stations. In the words of MARVIN GAYE, 'Let's Get It On!'"
