Scott Mahalick PD As KMAX Readies 'Wolf' Flip

ALL ACCESS has confirmed that ENTERCOM LMA'd Adult Hits KMAX (95.7 MAX FM)/SAN FRANCISCO will flip to Country as "95.7 THE WOLF" on THURSDAY (3/1) at 7:50a, with SCOTT MAHALICK -- formerly of ENTERCOM's KKWF (100.7 THE WOLF)/SEATTLE -- in the PD's chair.
After the last notes of BANANARAMA's 1986 smash "Venus" faded away, KMAX went into stunt mode this afternoon with a robotic voice counting down and reciting random phrases. The station's website currently features the logo seen above -- the MAX logo with claw marks through the middle -- and message that reads, in part, "Today is both a sad and exciting day here at 95.7 MAX FM. On one hand, we, like you, are saddened to see MAX go away. We had a good run in the BAY AREA and truly enjoyed interacting with you, our MAX fans. But, as a wise philosopher once said, all good things must come to an end."
Back in SEATTLE, APD ROB WALKER becomes interim PD as a permanent search for a replacement begins.
