The other shoe has dropped in SEATTLE, where the syndicated SEAN HANNITY's exit from LOTUS News-Talk KVI-A has, as hinted at ALL ACCESS (NET NEWS 4/7), led to the unveiling of iHEARTMEDIA's new News-Talk KPTR-A (1090 THE PATRIOT), taking the place of the Sports format it had aired under "KJR 1090" branding since 2018. Sister KJR-A (at 950 AM) began simulcasting on FM with the flip of Top 40/Rhythmic KUBE in MARCH (NET NEWS 3/8); KJR and its staff are indicating on social media that 93.3 FM and 950 AM will split programming with the local content continuing on FM.
The new format on 1090 AM kicked off TODAY with the slogan "Real News Real Talk." The all-syndicated weekday lineup includes PREMIERE's GLENN BECK, CLAY TRAVIS and BUCK SEXTON, HANNITY, and JESSE KELLY; COMPASS MEDIA NETWORKS' "JOE PAGS" PAGLIARULO; "OUR AMERICAN STORIES"; and BLOOMBERG RADIO. SATURDAY clearances include "AT HOME WITH GARY SULLIVAN," "LEO LAPORTE -- THE TECH GUY," "HANDEL ON THE LAW," "THE MARK MOSS SHOW," a brokered financial show, and "THE BEN FERGUSON SHOW."
PAGLIARULO said, “I am thrilled to bring my show to the great city of SEATTLE. Being part of this line-up of talk stars is a true privilege. I can’t wait to give the people of the EMERALD CITY a place to come to voice their concerns, have some fun and take part in important dialogue.”
The station has been through numerous formats over the years, first as MOR KING-A through the 1970s, then Top 40, AC, News-Talk, All-News, Country, "Hot" Talk, Classic Country, Progressive Talk, Sports, and, since 2018, Sports with KJR 1090 branding.
