WARNER CHAPPELL MUSIC has signed a global publishing deal with songwriter SHERRY MARTIN, mother of WCM songwriter AARON RAITIERE. The two have collaborated on past writes, including “Love, Light, and Healing” for THE OAK RIDGE BOYS. MARTIN also co-wrote “I Ain’t No Zebra I’m a Bumblebee,” cut by ANDERSON EAST, and featured on the children’s album “At Home With Kids.”
A KENTUCKY native, MARTIN was the inspiration of RAITIERE’s writing of “Love, Light, and Healing,” MARTIN gave RAITIERE her journal of prayers to pull from, they sat and talked through some stories and came up with the song while spending time together at MARTIN’s lake house during the initial COVID-19 lockdown.
A retired nurse, MARTIN pulls inspiration from her days in the emergency room in her songwriting.
