COX MEDIA GROUP (CMG) has named STEVE STEWART Director of Country Content, and CHRIS LLOYD Director of Rock Content, both effective immediately. STEWART and LLOYD will oversee content, programming, and brand strategies for the company’s 11 Rock and five Country format stations.
Since joining the company in 2018 (NET NEWS 6/22/18), STEWART has served as Dir./Operations for the ORLANDO cluster and PD for Country WWKA (K92.3). Prior to COX, he was PD of iHEARTMEDIA Country WEBG/CHICAGO. Before that, he held programming roles in ST. LOUIS and GRAND RAPIDS, among others. Additionally, he currently hosts the nationally syndicated live Country show THE ROAD through UNITED STATIONS RADIO NETWORKS.
LLOYD joined CMG in 2006 as PD for the legendary Classic Rock WBAB/LONG ISLAND. In 2020, he was named Dir./Operations for CMG RADIO LONG ISLAND and added programming responsibilities for Top 40 WBLI in 2021.
STEWART said, “I’m excited for the opportunity to collaborate with our programming leaders and the Country community as a whole. CMG Country has a rich history with our listeners in our local markets, and it’s a thrill that I get to help grow our Country brands with the fans, advertisers and our partners.”
LLOYD added, "What an amazing opportunity to work more closely with the talented CMG Rock programming team. I look forward to building on the strong foundation we already have to continue serving our loyal listeners.”
VP of Audience and Operations CHRIS EAGAN said, “I’ve known CHRIS and STEVE for years, and it’s been a pleasure to watch them grow as programmers and become key leaders in CMG. I can’t wait to see them take our Rock and Country radio stations to new heights.”
