CORUS French Talk CKRS-A/SAGUENAY has suspended host LOUIS CHAMPAGNE for using a derogatory term for gays to refer to PARTI QUEBECOIS leader ANDRE BOISCLAIR.
CHAMPAGNE called BOISCLAIR, who is gay, a "tapette" on his FEBRUARY 27 show and said that the workers at the ALCAN aluminum smelting plant in the area would not vote for him. The station is not indicating the length of CHAMPAGNE's suspension, which pends a management meeting with the host.
